New Hampshire Voters Strongly Support the Key Provisions of the American Jobs Plan

By Lew Blank

In a survey conducted in mid-June, Data for Progress tested support among likely voters in New Hampshire for key provisions of the American Jobs Plan.

We find that New Hampshire voters across party lines strongly support President Biden’s agenda to rebuild our infrastructure, invest in American manufacturing, and develop clean energy. This includes nearly unanimous support for protecting our roads and bridges from extreme weather (+81-point net support), replacing all lead pipes and upgrading our drinking water systems (+79-point net support), investing in American innovation and manufacturing (+77-point net support), and modernizing our electricity system (+75-point net support). New Hampshire voters also overwhelmingly support cleaning up abandoned mines and oil and gas wells (+58-point net support), investing in new renewable energy projects (+44-point net support), and creating new tax incentives to research and develop new energy technologies (+45-point net support).

Importantly, this support extends across party lines. Independent voters strongly support every provision we tested, favoring each by at least a +40-point margin. Republican voters in New Hampshire are also highly supportive of Biden’s infrastructure agenda, with more than a +50-point margin of support for protecting our roads and bridges, replacing all lead pipes, modernizing our electricity system, and investing in American innovation and manufacturing.
