Climate Power 2021 End of Year Memo

After winning the November 2020 election with the most ambitious climate policy platform in history, the Biden Administration and Democrats in Congress sought to execute their bold climate vision during their first year in power. As the anniversary of Joe Biden’s inauguration approaches, it is clear that 2021 was a landmark year not only for federal climate action, but also for the shifting public narrative on climate change — the politics of climate have changed. Throughout the year, Data for Progress and Climate Power conducted a series of national polls that captured a growing consensus among voters about taking action to combat climate change and creating a new clean energy economy.
